I am a dedicated teacher who plans his lessons individually for each student, based on their current level, needs, and interests. My emphasis is on making practicing fun while keeping the lessons challenging. The content of my lessons includes technique (efficiency of movement, injury prevention), creativity (cultivating one’s own ideas, grooves, fills), as well as developing independence (coordination) and soloing. I am proficient in many styles of music, including Funk, Jazz, Rock, Metal, Pop, R’n’B, Soul, Reggae, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, other Caribbean and Latin styles, and others. I have a Master of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Los Angeles, as well as a Diploma from my 2 years of study at the Drummers Collective in New York City. I have been a drummer since the age of 13, playing in several original and cover bands of various styles in New York City and in Germany. I am currently an active musician in LA, playing live, recording in the studio and sharing my knowledge with students of all ages and levels.
